INSIDE SCOOPE Radio Days
As printed in the Central Penn Business Journal, August, 3, 2001
Through the magic of radio, Ira Wolfe works in two places at once every
Friday morning.
Wolfe is president of Success Performance Solutions, a work-force
consulting firm in Leola, Lancaster County. On July 27, Wolfe became the
host of a radio program called "Breakthrough to Success with Dr. Ira
Wolfe."
It is broadcast every Friday from 7 am to 8 am on WALE-AM 990 in
Providence, R.R. The program can be heard throughout southern New England,
and is also broadcast on the Internet at www.nabcinc.com.
The show focuses on how employers can recruit and retain employees,
especially in the health care, technology, construction and education
industries, Wolfe said. It also includes discussions and interviews with
work-force experts, book authors and other consultants.
Although it is being broadcast out of Providence, Wolfe never has to
leave Pennsylvania. He does the job every week via telephone.
Phoenix-based North American Broadcasting Co. Inc., which owns WALE,
asked Wolfe to volunteer about two months ago. Although he is not being
paid for his efforts, Wolfe said he agreed to do the job because it could
attract potential clients to his business.
"The timing was right," he said. "Having my own radio show gives us an
opportunity to gain regional exposure."
The radio show's initial run is 13 weeks. If it is successful, Wolfe
said, he would like it to eventually be broadcast nationwide.
